Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Honors exceptional performance of Organized Crime Unit
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, underscored the pivotal role of the Organized Crime Unit in combating organized and heinous crimes across the province. During a ceremony held at the Central Police Office today, Dr. Usman Anwar awarded certificates of appreciation to 43 officers and officials of the Organized Crime Unit in recognition of their outstanding performance.
In his address, IG Punjab emphasized the need for an accelerated crackdown to eliminate crimes such as murder, robbery, and drug trafficking. He highlighted the importance of leveraging modern technology and investigative skills to effectively solve serious crime cases. Dr. Usman Anwar commended the tradition of Punjab Police to recognize and encourage officers and officials for their exceptional performance, affirming that it will continue at all levels.
The reward ceremony, organized by IG Punjab, celebrated the successful tracing of high-profile cases by the officers and officials of the Organized Crime Unit. Among the awardees, DSP Mian Qadeer Ahmad and his team were recognized for apprehending the notorious Imran alias Chota Rana Abro gang, known for multiple armed robberies and other criminal activities. Additionally, Inspector Mian Anjum Touqeer and his team were acknowledged for swiftly resolving a staged kidnapping case, ensuring the safe return of the victim.Farooq Asghar Awan and his team were honored for their role in apprehending the Nasreen Odhni dacoit gang, Inspector Mian Anjum Touqeer and his police team were awarded certificates of appreciation for apprehending the cunning culprit who staged the disappearance of his wife after murdering her and throwing her body into the canal to fake her disappearance, while Inspector Muhammad Ali Butt and his team were applauded for apprehending the culprits of the Sunny gang involved in ATM cash withdrawal robberies.
IG Punjab extended his congratulations to the officers and personnel for their dedication and successful resolution of high-profile cases. The ceremony was attended by AIG Discipline Asif Amin Awan and other senior officers. Punjab Police remains committed to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Punjab.
