TOBA TEK SINGH: Three people were killed and as many injured during Shah Jewna urs in Jhang on Friday evening. The Jhang DC and DPO said three devotees had died due to heart failure because of suffocation but eye-witnesses blamed stampede caused by the presence of a large number of people in the Shah Jewna compound. Two of the deceased were identified as Sarfraz of Gojra and Muzammmal of Jhang. DC Muhammad Umair and DPO Muhammad Rahid Hidayat reached the shrine to oversee rescue operation. They said the death of three elderly men happened due to high humidity. They denied reports of stampede or electric shock had caused their death. They said bodies had been shifted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
