On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Police in action for drug free Punjab campaign.

In 51 days, 7308 cases were registered against drug dealers, 7770 accused were arrested, and thousands of kilos of drugs were recovered.

On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, police are in action for drug-free Punjab and under the supervision of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, intelligence-based operations against drug dealers are ongoing across the province. Spokesman Punjab Police said that during the special campaign, more than 15 thousand raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province. In 51 days, 7308 cases were registered against drug dealers and 7770 accused were arrested, 5067 kg of charas, more than 26 kg of Ice, 215 kg of opium, 95 kg of heroin, 99254 liters of alcohol were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Spokesman Punjab Police said that 311 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province including Lahore in the last 24 hours.145 suspects involved in drug trade were arrested and 141 cases were registered. 96 kg of charas, 05 kg of heroin, 480 grams of Ice and 1578 liters of liquor have been recovered from the possession of the accused. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar tasked the officers to root out the drug supply chain. IG Punjab directed that intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should be accelerated.
