Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr, On the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police finalised the strict security measures.

More than 52,000 officers and personnel will be deployed in all districts of the province on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr, spokesman of Punjab Police said.

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police has completed strict security measures for Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Spokesman of Punjab Police said that more than 52 thousand officers and personnel will be posted in all the districts of the province including Lahore on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Security arrangements are complete for Eid al-Fitr prayers at more than 26,000 mosques, Imambargahs and open places across the province. Spokesman Police further said that more than 08 thousand officers and personnel will do security duty in the provincial capital on Chand Raat and Eid al-Fitr,  while more than 8 thousand CCTV cameras, more than 15 thousand metal detectors, 168 walk-through gates will be used throughout the province. Spokesman of Punjab Police further said that mosques, Imambargahs, sensitive places will be monitored from the control rooms of Safe Cities Authority.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar instructed the officers that Dolphin Squad, PRU, Elite teams will continuously patrol around important places on Chand Raat and Eid, aerial firing, one-wheeling and fighting are not allowed at all. IG Punjab said that those who harass women will have to go to jail. RPOs, DPOs will supervise Eid security arrangements themselves, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that in view of the situation in the country, checking of vehicles and persons on inter-provincial routes and patrolling at river check posts should be made more efficient. In view of the extra rush during the Eid holidays in Murree and Galiat, the Tourism Force should facilitate, protect and guide the tourists. IG Punjab said that additional personnel should be deployed to maintain the flow of traffic in the vicinity of important roads and entertainment places. Plainclothes police commandos, snipers on rooftop duty should be deployed at A-category Eid gatherings. IG Punjab directed that patrolling around markets, sensitive mosques, Imambargahs and minority places of worship should be made more effective. Search, sweep, combing and intelligence based operations, snap checking should be continued on a daily basis across the province. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the security of entertainment places and parks should also be taken into consideration during Eid gatherings and holidays.
