IG Punjab gave cheques worth Rs. 05 lakh each to 18 families of martyrs for construction expenses.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is determined to provide own houses to the families of police martyrs, in continuation of which, the mission of construction of houses on plots provided by the department to the families of police martyrs belonging to before 2017 is on its way to completion. In a ceremony held at the Central Police Office, IG Punjab gave cheques worth Rs. 05 lakh each to 18 families of police martyrs.

Relief cheques were given to the families of the martyrs of various cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad. According to the spokesman of Punjab Police, 12 families were given the installments of the next phase while 06 new families were given the cheques of the first installment.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the families of police martyrs have been given 02.85 million rupees in installments to build houses on the plots. IG Punjab said that plots have been arranged for the families of 588 martyrs families of before 2017, 440 families have received land papers for plots, ownership papers of 148 families are under process. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police endowment fund is providing support to the families of 23 martyrs for the construction of houses. In the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also gifted a motorcycle to the son of Shaheed Muhammad Qasim of Lahore Police to go to college. Dr. Usman Anwar said that police martyrs are our pride and all possible measures will be continued for their best welfare. The families of the martyrs present in the ceremony thanked IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for the excellent care. Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Welfare Ghazi Salahuddin and AIG Welfare Amara Shirazi and other officers were present on the occasion.
