IG orders providing relief to cops on merit

LAHORE: IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar met the police employees and their families at the Central Police Office on Tuesday and issued relief orders after listening to their problems. IG said that the best welfare of police employees is first priority and all possible relief should be provided to them according to merit. IGP forwarded application of Constable Arslan Anwar to DIG Establishment II regarding cancellation of transfer order for necessary action. He issued orders to provide relief according to merit on the application of the wife of late constable M Qasim Umar to set aside his punishments as appeal is pending with DIG Estt-II. He directed DIG Establishment I to provide relief on promotion fixation request of three sub-inspectors of Sahiwal region. He directed the DIG Welfare to take action on the request of late ASI Amjad Ali Khan's wife for provision of maintenance allowance. Dr Usman instructed the welfare branch to provide relief on the request of ASI Mumtaz Khan to provide scholarship for medical education of his son.

15,000 biker safety wires distributed

On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a special campaign against metal strings and kite flying is going on across the province. Police distributed safety wires to more than 15,000 motorcycle riders. A spokesman for Punjab police said safety wire guards have been installed on more than 1 lakh and 10 thousand motorcycles during the safety wire installation campaign.
