Punjab Police intensified the special campaign against law breakers involved in metal strings and kite flying. 

In the last 24 hours, 60 cases were registered across the province, 57 accused were arrested, 2636 kites, 89 string wheels were recovered.

On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a special campaign is underway against law breakers involved in metal strings and kite flying and actions against violators under the Anti-Kite Flying Act have been speeded up across the province including Lahore. In continuation of which, 60 cases have been registered against the accused from across the province during the last 24 hours and 57 accused have been arrested. 2636 kites, 89 strings have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Spokesman Punjab Police said that during the last 33 days, the police teams have arrested 3562 suspects from across the province while registering 3437 cases under the anti-kite flying act across the province including Lahore. 216504 kites and 14670 strings have been recovered from the possession of these accused.

Instructing the supervisory officers of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that all officers should personally supervise the crackdown against metal strings and kites. IGP Punjab directed that strict action should be taken against the manufacture, sale and use of metal strings and kites under zero tolerance. IG Punjab emphasized that with the cooperation of civil society, the accused involved in dangerous business should be given real punishment, especially tomorrow on holiday, the crackdown should be accelerated under zero tolerance.
