MUZAFFARGARH: Two policemen on Monday foiled a suicide attempt by a 17-year-old girl who jumped into the Abbasia Canal at Head Panjnad in Alipur tehsil, some 120km away from city area. Report said head constable Qazi Kashif and constable Ayaz were on duty and they noticed a young woman in a burqa approaching the canal. They acted swiftly and were able to rescue her from the water after she jumped in.The girl, of Taranda Muhammad Panah, told the police that she was studying in a private educational academy in Alipur against her will. The police called her parents who took her home.
