President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan awarded Hilal Imtiaz to IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. Dr. Usman Anwar, as Inspector General of Police, carried out far-reaching reforms and reorganization of the Punjab Police. Dr. Usman Anwar was honored with distinguished honor for providing best policing services to citizens, electronic monitoring of police stations, welfare of martyred police families and providing employment to them. Dr. Usman Anwar's efforts in the field of digitization of Punjab Police and counter-terrorism operations have significant impact. Dr. Usman Anwar's works are prominent in the inclusion of deprived sections of the society, especially transgenders, women, children and minorities in the mainstream and provision of best policing services to them. In recognition of Dr. Usman Anwar's outstanding services in the field of public services, he has been awarded Hilal Imtiaz by govt. of Pakistan.
