Lahore: According to the sources of Daily Notable,  On the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police has accelerated the action across the province to eradicate the menace of drugs. In this regard, Punjab Police has also intensified the intelligence-based operations against drug dealers across the province, including Lahore. During the last 24 hours, 871 raids were conducted on the hideouts of drug dealers across the province. 511 cases were registered against the anti-social elements involved in the drug business and 512 accused were arrested. 389 kg of hashish, two and half kilos of ice, 11 kilos of heroin, 21 kilos of opium and 5055 liters of liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused.

While sharing details of the crackdown of last three days, Spokesman Punjab Police shared that a total of 2818 raids were conducted across the province, 1713 cases were registered and 1717 accused were arrested. 1429 kg of charas, 05 kg of Ice, 19 kg of heroin, 117 kg of opium and 16986 liters of alcohol were recovered from the possession of drug dealers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that targeted operations should be further accelerated across the province to keep the young generation safe from drugs.
