Punjab police officers will provide special training to students of both universities under Volunteers in Police and Friends of Police programs, IG Punjab.
Professors of Punjab University and University of Sargodha visited the Central Police Office and met with IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. Among those who met were Chairperson Social Work Department Punjab University Professor Uzma and Assistant Professor University of Sargodha Dr. Nargis Abass.AIG Operations Punjab Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, AIG Welfare Amara Shirazi and other officers were also present on the spot.
In the meeting under the internship program of Punjab Police, the provision of community policing training to the students of both universities were discussed. It was decided to organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions for public awareness campaign. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police officers will provide special training to the students of both universities under Volunteers in Police and Friends of Police programs, students will be given visits to all the operational units of the Punjab Police. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that under the internship program, students will get practical training opportunities in the field along with special lectures and students will serve as victim support volunteers under social working projects. IG Punjab further said that under the Child and Women Protection, anti-narcotics pilot project, students will play the role of volunteers in the police and will give them an opportunity to know police working closely. The university professors appreciated the measures taken by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for providing services to the citizens.
