Punjab Highway Patrol rescued a woman from committing suicide.
The timely action by dutiful officials of Punjab Highway Patrol have saved another precious life, a woman who jumped into the Khanpur Canal to commit suicide. According to the details, Mahwish Habib, a resident of Sheikhupura, got upset over the quarrel, beating and violence of her husband and jumped into the Khanpur canal. PHP team on patrolling was informed by passeby, sub-inspector Dildar Ali with his team reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The police team wearing life jackets immediately jumped into the canal and rescued the woman from the drowning.
Mahwish Habib's brother and mother were informed and called to the spot, after necessary action they were handed over to the family. Mahwish Habib's Azhra Bibi and brother Azeem thanked the police team. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar lauded the good work of PHP team and announced letters of appreciation for the whole team for saving human lives. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the protection of life and properties of citizens is the first priority and the efforts of the PHP team are commendable.
