Offices upgrade aimed at faster policing: IGP

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar says the purpose of upgrading police offices and infrastructure development is to make service delivery easier and faster for the common citizens. After the upgrade of all the police stations on the special initiative protocol, the construction of smart police stations is being completed rapidly, upgrade of offices and improved working environment will improve the efficiency of the force, he said while visiting various police offices, including Qurban Lines Apartments on Saturday. The IGP gave instructions to the SSP Telecommunications for renovation of the One Lahore Police Apartments and reviewed the ongoing construction at the offices of DIG Technical and DIG VVIP Security.

DIG Telecommunications and Transport Imran Ahmar briefed the IGP on the ongoing construction works. Later, the IGP also inspected the construction work of Centre for Public Safety in Lower Mall. Speaking on the occasion, he said modern resources and facilities would be available at the centre to provide policing services to the citizens. He said the ongoing development works in the police offices should be completed at the earliest. MD Safe City DIG Ahsan Younas, DIG Telecommunication Imran Ahmar, SSP Asad Sarfraz Khan, SP Tele Transport and other officers were present.
