Central Police Office: An exclusive training session held regarding the modern e-procurement system of Punjab Government

A one-day special training session was organized at the Central Police Office regarding the modern e-procurement system of the Punjab government. MD PPRA Waqar Azeem briefed senior police officers about the features and usage of e-procurement system. Senior officers, unit heads and DIGs of Central Police Office and officers from Lahore police participated in the training session while all the RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province also participated in the training session through video link.

MD PPRA Waqar Azeem told the officers in the training session that the Punjab government is making the procurement of all government institutions online under the latest e-procurement project. Through the e-procurement system, all government institutions will be able to book their orders online as per the rules and regulations. MD PPRA said that in the e-procurement system, all the steps including bidding, evaluation and placing order will be done online. Waqar Azeem informed the officers about the online procurement procedure and said that in developed countries, all the process of procurement are being done through the online system. This online system is reducing costs and saving valuable time. MD PPRA Waqar Azeem further said that the online procurement system will also bring more accuracy and transparency in the procurement process and the government institutions will have the opportunity to buy the good items of their needs at a lower price. Officers participating in the training session also asked various questions about the features and procedures of the e-procurement system.
