Punjab Police and Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy inked MOU for the promotion of hockey among the children associated with Punjab Police.

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that Punjab Police is playing its role for the promotion of sports and constructive activities along with performing its basic responsibility or eradicating crimes, protecting lives and properties of citizens and improving the public service delivery and in this regard, an MOU has been signed with Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy for the encouragement and mentoring of young athletes and children associated with the game of hockey. According to the details, an MoU was signed between the Punjab Police and Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy for the promotion of hockey among the children associated with Punjab Police. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and legendary hockey player Khawaja Junaid signed the MOU in a ceremony held at the Central Police Office.
Under the MOU, Punjab Police and Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy will take joint measures for the promotion of hockey. Hockey equipment, training and mentoring will be provided to children and young players involved in the sport of hockey. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy will provide hockey equipment and free coaching facilities to teach hockey to the children of police employees. Sports camps will be organized for the selection and training of hockey players in which young players will be given training. Under the MOU Punjab Police and Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy agree to organize hockey related events, workshops and training programs. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police will appoint a focal person for effective coordination with Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police won 14 medals in the recent National Games, for patronage of all sports including hockey measures will be accelerated along with the provision of facilities.
Hockey legend player Khawaja Junaid declared the MOU with Punjab Police as auspicious for the future of hockey and said that they will organize hockey competitions, workshops and training programs together with Punjab Police. Khawaja Junaid added that new hockey talent will be groomed in collaboration with Punjab Police and a batch of new players will be prepared for the future. DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salah-ud-din, AIG Admin Sahibzada Bilal Umar, AIG Operations Dr. Asad Ejaz Malhi and SDPO Gulberg ASP Syeda Shaherbano were also present in the event.
