Central Police Office: UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body delegation met with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.

During the meeting, UK organization and Punjab Police agreed to establish a school with mutual cooperation for the education and training of transgender children aged 05 to 18 years.

Provision of quality education at primary and high school, along with providing basic skills, which will aid in enhancing their quality of life. Briefing

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar was met by the delegation of British organization UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body at the Central Police Office. British organization UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body delegation includes Zahid Bhatti, Nabeel Amir, Abdullah Mushtaq and Asas Ali Malik. During the meeting, various steps were taken including the establishment of a collaborative school for the education and training of transgender children between the ages of 05 and 18 years, different technical skills to improve the quality of life and the best education at the primary and high school levels will be provided to these children. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and UK Curriculum & Accreditation Body Founder/Trustee Zahid Bhatti signed the MOU. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that by establishing a separate school for the education of transgender children, these children will get much needed exclusive facilities. IG Punjab said that the UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body agrees to cater the costs of setting up a school for the education and training of transgender children. For the education and training of transgender children and provision of facilities to them, various measures will be ensured with mutual cooperation. Punjab Police will provide land for establishment of primary and secondary schools for transgenders from the platform of the tahaffuz markaz and cooperation of the Punjab Govt.

Founder Trustee of UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body Zahid Bhatti said that UK Curriculum and Accreditation Body will create the school curriculum, teacher training and day-to-day activities program, SOPs have been created with the consultation of Punjab Police for the working of the school, while the Punjab Police will ensure the security of the premises of school. During the meeting, other measures for the welfare of the transgender community were discussed and further initiatives were decided through mutual cooperation. DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salah ud din, AIG Operations Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, CTO Lahore Amara Athar and SDPO Gulberg ASP Syeda Shaherbano were also present in the event.
