IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar's direction: Punjab Police finalized the security arrangements for New Year Night
21,413 officers & officials will perform security duty on the New Year night across the province, said Punjab Police spokesperson.
2373 officers and personnel, 271 metal detectors, 236 CCTV cameras will be used for the security of New Year programs in the provincial capital, the spokesman of Punjab Police said.
Indiscriminate action will be taken against those who engage in aerial firing, rioting or one-wheeling, said IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has completed the security arrangements for the New Year Night celebrations and activities across the province., according to which 21,413 officers and officials will perform security duty on the occasion of New Air Night across the province including Lahore, 2312 metal detectors and thousands of CCTV cameras will also be used for the security of New Air programs. Spokesperson Punjab Police said that 2373 officers and personnel will be deployed in the provincial capital for the security of New Year programs, 271 metal detectors & 236 CCTV cameras will also be used. Similarly, new air security arrangements have been completed in other big cities including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan, thousands of officials will be on security duty.
IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has directed the RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to take indiscriminate action against those who engage in aerial firing, rioting and one-wheeling on the occasion of New Year night. IG Punjab directed that special teams should be formed to prevent one-wheeling and aerial firing on New Year's Night, any illegal activity in the name of entertainment is unacceptable, protection of lives and property of citizens is the first priority. Dr. Usman Anwar directed CCPO Lahore, RPOs and DPOs to form special squads to maintain peace and order on the roads on the eve of New Year, while all district traffic officers including CTO Lahore should depute additional traffic wardens to maintain traffic flow on busy roads and places. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that special care should be taken to protect the lives and property of families, women and children on the occasion of New Year's night. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar further said that parents should keep an eye on the activities of their children, never allow them to be part of any illegal activities.UG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar requested the citizens to report one-wheeling, display of weapons and aerial firing on emergency number 15 immediately.
