Leading Human rights activist Hina Jilani visited Central Police Office and met IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, including the protection of the rights of women and other vulnerable sections of the society, were discussed. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while talking to Hina Jilani said that Punjab Police highly values the public welfare initiatives of human rights organizations. IG Punjab further said that the Punjab Police is playing an active role in providing legal and social security to the weaker sections of society. Hina Jilani briefed the IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar about various projects and ongoing initiatives of her organization.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while informing Hina Jilani about the establishment and working of police tahaffuz Marakaz, said that Punjab Police is ensuring all possible support to transgenders, women and children from the platform of tahaffuz Marakaz IGP Dr. Usman Anwar said that people suffering from various problems are being provided with guidance and support by interlinking them with renowned public and private institutions. Hina jilani and the women in the delegation were given a tour of various departments of the Central Police Office. IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar informed Hina Jilani about the recently constructed martyrs and Ghazi walls of Punjab Police at CPO. The delegation was briefed about the martyrs of Punjab Police and modern projects of public service delivery. At the end of the meeting, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar presented an honorary souvenir of Punjab Police to Hina Jilani. Additional IG South Punjab Maqsood ul Hasan, AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem, SSP Investigation Dr. Anoosh Masood and other officers were also present on this occasion.
