Arrival of Christmas: Punjab Police finalized the security plan of Christian worship places and sensitive installations

 

On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has finalized the plan for the security of Christian worship places and sensitive installations on the arrival of Christmas. According to which, on 25th December, 26,557 officers and officials will be deployed for the security of 3286 churches across the province. Spokesman Punjab Police said that 2335 CCTV cameras, 3427 metal detectors and hundreds of walk-through gates will be used for the security of Christian citizens, 3422 officers and personnel, 271 metal detectors and 236 CCTV cameras will be used in provincial capital while lady police personnel will be deployed for the security of female Christian citizens. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that Punjab Police has divided 3286 churches of the province into A, B and C categories, 154 in A category, 414 churches in B category, 2718 churches in C category, while 3501 Christian worship programs of A, B and C category will be held across the province, which will be provided with foolproof security.

 

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed all RPOs, DPOs, district traffic officers including CCPO Lahore to personally supervise Christmas security and traffic arrangements. IGP Dr. Usman Anwar said that fool proof security should be provided to all christian places of worship, parks, recreational places and all sensitive installations including consulate offices too. IGP punjan stressed that supervisory officers should go out in the field to inspect the security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar directed the officers to maintain the atmosphere of law and order throughout the province on the occasion of Christmas.
