ISLAMABAD : A psychological survey of 489 officers and personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was conducted on the direction of Inspector General of Police (IGP) to gauge their commitment with efficiency for fighting against the terrorism. The survey of compute the mind-set of the cops engaged with the CTD was conducted on the direction of the top cop and completed in one-month time. The survey reports, surfaced on Friday, disclosed that 33 personnel were suffering from depression, while 4 personnel required counselling, the office of the IGP said, adding that the written examination was designed in accordance with international standards to determine the psychological conditions of CTD personnel. Senior police officers issued instructions to provide immediate treatment facilities to personnel suffering from mental stress. These personnel have been deployed on easy duties, and two patients have also been shifted to the hospital. The welfare of police personnel is Islamabad Capital Police’s top priority, the IGP office said.
