MUZAFFARGARH: The Khangarh police have recovered the remains, clothes, and bangles of the one-and-a-half-year-old child, one the three children missing since Dec 8. A suspect, who is with the police on a five-day physical remand, provided crucial information during interrogation which led to the recovery of the clothes and bangles of kidnapped Hafsa Bibi. On Dec 8, Hafsa, her three-year-old brother Abdullah and seven-year-old cousin Ali Hassan went missing outside home. District Police Officer Syed Hasnain Haider told reporters on Friday that the remains of Hafsa were now recovered, with forensic teams actively collecting samples. The Punjab Forensic Science Agency will conduct DNA testing on the collected samples.
Ali Hassan, the rescued child, informed his parents that after the kidnapping, Bilal had killed Abdullah and his sister Hafsa. He claimed that Bilal distributed their remains at a local shrine. Some family members rejected these allegations, and the police recovered Abdullah’s body two days ago. The police registered a kidnap case against Bilal on Dec 8 on the complaint of Fiaz Bhutta, father of Hafsa and Abdullah. Following the recent developments, a murder case has been registered against him. The families of the children appealed to the inspector general of Punjab police to take action against the suspect. A family member said Bilal, a relative of the deceased children, had been estranged from his wife for several weeks.
