During the current year, Bahawalnagar police recovered more than 11.7 million rupees worth of stolen property and handed it over to the original owners.
Bahawalnagar Police arrested the accused in 75 cases of murder including 05 blind murders and sent them to judicial custody.
222 stolen motorcycles, 12 other vehicles, 23 tolas of gold ornaments, 48 mobile phones, and 252 stolen cattle were recovered and handed over to the original owners.
19 inspectors, 73 sub-inspectors, 87 assistant sub-inspectors, 121 head constables were promoted on merit and seniority.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar met with DPO Bahawalnagar Naseebullah Khan and his team in the series of Police Station Diaries. IGP Punjab reviewed the overall performance of Bahawalnagar Police in terms of crime prevention during the current year. DPO Bahawalnagar Naseebullah Khan while giving a briefing about the performance of the district police this year under police station diaries said that During the current year, Bahawalnagar police recovered more than 11.7 million rupees worth of stolen property from dacoits and criminals and handed it over to the original owners. In action against illegal weapons 798 cases were registered and 798 accused were arrested, 03 Kalashnikovs, 51 rifles, 73 guns, 59 repeaters, 15 revolvers, 603 pistols, 13 carbines and other items were recovered from their possession. Bahawalnagar Police arrested the accused in 75 cases of murder including 05 blind murders and sent them to judicial custody. 3054 proclaimed offenders, 2476 court absconders and 414 habitual criminals (target offenders) were arrested. 51 criminals of 19 gangs were arrested and stolen goods worth more than 96 lakh rupees were recovered. In the crackdown against narcotics this year, more than 20 kg of heroin, 370 kg of charas, 10 kg of opium, 715 kg of bhang, 31789 liters of alcohol, 6944 liters of Lahan, 152 Liquor distilleries were recovered.
In electricity theft crackdown, 982 cases were registered and the accused were arrested. The suspects of 3 incidents of robbery with murder were traced and arrested. 4 kidnap -for- ransom hostages were safely recovered. 222 stolen motorcycles, 12 other vehicles, 23 tolas of gold ornaments, 48 mobile phones and 252 stolen cattle were recovered and handed over to the original owners. DPO Bahawalnagar further said that 04 lakh 13 thousand kg of wheat, more than 09 lakh 16 thousand kg wheat in stockpiling and 4200 kg of flour were recovered by thwarting the illegal hoarding. 19 inspectors, 73 sub-inspectors, 87 assistant sub-inspectors, 121 head constables have been promoted to the upper ranks according to merit and seniority in the ongoing promotion of the force.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the Bahawalnagar Police for successfully tracing the robbery, murder and other cases. IG Punjab directed the DSPs, SHOs of Bahawalnagar Police to ensure effective use of modern technology to protect the life and property of the citizens and fight crimes and public service delivery should be made more easier for the citizens with a comprehensive strategy.
