NAROWAL: Sialkot police claimed on Monday to have arrested 45 illegal Afghan residents. Sialkot District Police Officer Mohammad Hasan Iqbal told Dawn the police received information that Afghan nationals are living illegally near Tehsil Pasrur. He said Pasrur Saddar police immediately raided a brick kiln in the neighbouring village of Bin Bajwa and took into custody 45 Afghan citizens, including men, women and children. He said police arrested and registered a first information report against kiln owner Muhammad Arshad Padyar for giving illegal shelter to foreign nationals.According to sources, the police have shifted the Afghan residents to the refugee camp at hockey stadium in Sialkot.
