LAHORE, Oct 7: Police claim to have arrested 187 proclaimed offenders and 213 court absconders in the last 10 days crackdown against criminals. Police also busted 15 gangs of robbers, arresting their 42 members and seized from them booty worth over Rs1.3million and illegal weapons.
According to the operations police spokesman, the crackdown was launched on the orders of DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai.
Police also detained 119 drug-peddlers, 99 people with illegal weapons and 106 gamblers and seized from them 7kg heroin, 20kg charas, 723 bottles of liquor, illegal weapons and stake money worth Rs547,000.
