On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown of the Punjab Police against the fugitive and proclaimed offenders residing abroad is continuing without interruption, in continuation of which two dangerous fugitives have been arrested and brought back to the country. According to the details, the team of Punjab Police Lahore arrested the fugitives Hamid Ali and Muhammad Azam from United Arab Emirates and arrived at Lahore Airport. Fugitives were arrested by the mutual coordination of Interpool Islamabad, Punjab Police and Abu Dhabi Police, the spokesman of Punjab Police said that the total number of proclaimed offenders and absconding criminals arrested from foreign countries this year has increased to 139. These criminals have been arrested and brought back home from other countries including America, Great Britain, Europe, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the police team for arresting the A category dangerous fugitives. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to complete the legal process as soon as possible and punish the criminals, IG Punjab further said that the crackdown should be intensified to arrest more dangerous fugitives wanted in serious crimes, and RPOs, DPOs personally supervised the operations to arrest fugitive and proclaimed offenders residing abroad.
