Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has approved the P Cadet Scheme for departmental promotions of Constables, Head Constables and ASIs taking another revolutionary step for the career planning and welfare of the Police Force. In this regards, IG Punjab has sent a letter to the Punjab Public Service Commission to conduct the P-cadet examination.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that serving constables and head constables of Punjab Police will be eligible to take the exam under the P-Cadet Scheme on 1010 seats of ASIs, similarly, in-service Head Constables and ASIs of Punjab Police will be eligible to take the exam for 438 seats of Sub-Inspectors. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that all the seats of sub-inspectors and ASIs will be filled with in-service personnel through the P-cadet examination. This initiative will directly benefit 1448 officials serving across the province including Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that hundreds of officials could not benefit under this scheme due to the non approval of P-cadet examination for the past several years and now nearly 1500 more personnel will be promoted on the basis of merit on the seats vacated by the officials who got promotion by P Cadet examination.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the establishment branch to conduct the examination and complete the promotion process through P-cadet scheme soon. IG Punjab said that the morale of the entire force will increase by restoring the P-cadet scheme, more personnel eligible for promotion will get promotions. Dr. Usman Anwar also directed to continue further measures under comprehensive strategy for departmental developments and welfare of police force.
