IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar's another good initiative for quality education of police employees' children, inked MOU with leading private schools and colleges system,

Lahore: According to the sources of Daily Notable,  Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has signed an MOU with leading private schools and colleges system in a ceremony held at the Central Police Office, taking another positive step for the higher education of the children of police personnel. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and Executive Director Prof. Dr. Sohail Afzal signed the MOU, Minister for Planning, Development and Environment Bilal Afzal also attended the event. Under the MOU, children of police officers have been given special fee concessions in schools and colleges owned by leading private group, 100% discount on all expenses for children of police martyrs and 50% discount for children of other employees. The children of the serving police employees will avail offer to pay half fees. 

With the efforts of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the discount for police children has been increased from 30% to 50%. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that this year the target is to give educational scholarships up to 85 crore rupees to the children of police employees, foreign scholarships are also being provided to the talented children of police constables for higher education abroad. Several education-friendly initiatives have been taken, including the launch of police YouTube channel and Sabaq.Pk, the MOU signed today is recent development in the quality education of the force in this regard. It will help the thousands of children to avail education in a better environment. IG Punjab said that students of private colleges will complete their internships under Friends of Police and Volunteers in Police programs of Punjab Police in police offices.

Professor Dr. Sohail Afzal said that modern teaching training will be provided to the teachers of educational institutions of Punjab Police. Provincial Minister for Planning, Development and Environment Bilal Afzal was also present in the event who welcomed the establishment of police tahaffuz centers to help transgenders, beggars, drug addicts, child labour, exploited children and women. Provincial Minister for Planning, Development and Environment Bilal Afzal and visiting delegation of private schools and colleges were also given a visit to various departments of the Central Police Office. Additional IG finance and welfare Muhammad Riaz Nazir Gara,  Additional IG Operations Shahzada Sultan, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIG Welfare Naveed Ajmal and AIG Admin Amara Athar and other officers were present in the meeting.
