Australian High Commission delegation led by Australian High Commissioner Mr. Neil Hawkins visited the Central Police Office and met IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Second Secretary Political Mairi Robertson, Program Officer Mateen Amin also included in the Australian high commission delegation. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the Australian High Commissioner on historic victory of Australian cricket team in cricket World Cup.During the meeting, Punjab Police and the Australian government mutually agreed to further promote bilateral cooperation in security matters. Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins said that they will provide modern training and technical assistance to increase the efficiency of the Punjab Police. Australian High Commissioner appreciated the efforts and sacrifices of the Punjab Police as a frontline force in the fight against terrorism. Australian High Commissioner said that the key role of the Punjab Police for the protection of minorities in Pakistan is commendable. Australian delegation was briefed about the various initiatives of women Empowerment, Tahaffuz marakaz , Meesaq Centers and Police Dashboard. Australian High Commissioner said that Meesaq Centres, Tahaffuz marakaz and khidmat marakaz, Safe Cities are exemplary flagship projects of Punjab Police whose service delivery is outstanding and commendable.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar informed the Australian delegation about the ongoing measures for the protection of foreign citizens and minorities and said that the Special Protection Unit is continuously busy for the protection of foreign citizens, experts, and investors. IG Punjab said that the concrete steps are being ensured by the Punjab Police regarding supermacy of human rights, women empowerment, assistance to the underprivileged with the effective use of modern technology for eradication of crime graph and community policing. At the end of the meeting, commemorative souvenirs were also exchanged between IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and Australian High Commissioner.Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younis, DIG Operations Waqas Nazir and AIG. Admin Amara Athar was present on the occasion.
