On the directions of the Chief Minister Punjab and under the supervision of IG Punjab, a special campaign against under-age and unlicensed drivers is continuing across the province.
Total of 10,724 challans and 1781 cases were registered for violations across the province, Punjab Police Spokesman.
More than 03,000 challans, 726 cases against underage and unlicensed drivers were registered in Lahore last day, spokesperson of Punjab Police.
IG Punjab directed the RPOs, DPOs, and District Traffic Police Officers to speed up the ongoing crackdown.
According to the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, under the supervision of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a special campaign against underage and unlicensed drivers is going on across the province including Lahore, and in this regards total of 10 thousand 724 challans and 1781 FIRs have been registered against the violators of law during driving such as underage and without license. The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that in the provincial capital Lahore, more than 03 thousand challans and 726 cases were registered against underage and unlicensed drivers, among them, 379 FIRs were registered against underage drivers and 106 challans were issued, whereas 347 cases were registered against unlicensed drivers while 2895 challans were issued. Spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that 912 challans and 38 cases were registered in Gujranwala region for driving under age and without license. In Rawalpindi region, 1510 challans and 112 cases were registered for driving under age and without license. In Faisalabad region, 1775 challans and 89 cases were registered for driving under age and without license. In Multan region, 437 challans and 231 cases were registered against under age and driving without license.
IG Punjab directed the RPOs, DPOs, and District Traffic Police Officers to speed up the ongoing crackdown. IGP said that unlicensed vehicles and motorcycle drivers and under age drivers do not deserve any concession, such young drivers cause danger to the lives of other citizens along with them. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that strict action should be ensured against one-wheelers and racing youth. IG Punjab requested parents not to allow their young underage children to drive cars and motorcycles. IG Punjab further said that the supervisory officers sent the progress reports of the ongoing crackdown to the CPO on daily basis.
