Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar, the effective integrated strategy of Lahore Police has recorded a significant reduction in the crime graph. The data of calls received on emergency helpline 15 has shown a clear decrease in the crime graph. The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that according to the comparative analysis, 312 incidents of serious crimes have decreased in the month of November this year as compared to last year. Last year in the month of November, 2119 crimes were reported in various categories while this year 1807 incidents were observed.According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, a substantial reduction was also recorded in the incidents of robbery. This year, 243 incidents of robbery in Lahore have decreased compared to last year. This year, there were 521 incidents of robbery in the city, while last year the number was 764. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that this year there were 03 cases of robbery in the city while last year this number was 05. In the month of November this year, thanks to effective monitoring and surveillance, there was a significant reduction in the incidents of motorcycle theft.
In the same period last year in the month of November, 1157 incidents of motorcycle theft took place, while this year there were 1081 incidents. This year, 04 incidents of car theft, 05 incidents of other vehicles have decreased compared to last year. This year, there was no car snatching incident happened in the provincial capital. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while giving instructions to speed up the crackdown against the criminal elements, said that the process of protecting the life and property of the citizens should be further improved.
