IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and IG National Highways and Motorway Police Sultan Ali Khawaja jointly chaired an important meeting on Axle Load Management.
Punjab Police and National Highways and Motorway Police agreed to further develop the working relationship to secure the highways.
National Highways Police and Punjab Highway Patrol decided to take joint measures for axle load management on all the important highways of the province.
Both the organizations will take joint measures to prevent accidents on the roads due to heavy load traffic and effective implementation of laws.
IG National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) Sultan Ali Khawaja visited the Central Police Office. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar welcomed IG National Highways and Motorway Police Sultan Ali Khawaja. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and IG National Highways and Motorway Police Sultan Ali Khawaja jointly chaired an important meeting at the CPO, in which Additional IG National Highways Central Region Ali Ahmad Saber Kayani and CPO/DSP, Motorway, Mansoor Javed were also present. On behalf of Punjab Police, along with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Additional IGP Rao Abdul Karim, Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig, DIG PHP Dr. Athar Waheed, CTO Lahore Captain (Rtd) Mustansar Feroze attended the meeting. During the meeting, it was agreed to further strengthen the working relationship between Punjab Police and National Highways and Motorway Police to secure the highways. Punjab Highway Patrol and National Highways Police decided to ensure joint measures for axle load management on all the highways of the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that both the organizations will take joint measures to prevent accidents on the roads due to heavy load traffic and effective implementation of laws. IG Punjab directed to make coordination between PHP, Motorway and Traffic Police stronger and more effective for axle load management. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that a working group will be formed between Punjab Police and National Highways Police and working system will be interconnected. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the work culture and good measures of the Motorways Police are being implemented in the Punjab Police.DIG PHP Dr. Athar Waheed informed about the ongoing measures to prevent overloading on highways by PHP.
IG National Highways Sultan Ali Khawaja said that joint measures with Punjab Police on highways will improve the enforcement of axle load management rules and traffic management of heavy load vehicles will be more efficient. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar showed the IG (NHMP) Sultan Ali Khowaja various departments of the Central Police Office during the visit and informed IG (NHMP) Sultan Ali Khowaja about recently constructed martyred and Ghazi Walls, newly constructed auditorium, ongoing courses and other initiatives. At the end of the visit, souvenirs were also exchanged between IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and IG (NHMP) Sultan Ali Khawaja.
