DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Sakhi Sarwar police at the Sakhi Sarwar check post thwarted an attempt to smuggle 3,000 litres of Iranian diesel and nine cartons of cigarettes. The confiscated smuggled items were handed over to customs authorities after legal proceedings. Smugglers were intercepted at the Punjab police check post after ‘safely’ passing through three border military police check posts on Dera-Quetta Road in Tehsil Koh Sulaiman. After entering Punjab from Balochistan, smugglers must pass through three border military police check posts, subject to rigorous scrutiny, before reaching the Sakhi Sarwar check post in the Punjab police area.
