KASUR: Sadar Police claim to have arrested two injured robbers on Wednesday, saying their as many accomplices managed to escape after a brief encounter near Dolaywala village. As per the police, a caller informed them on 15 helpline that four unidentified robbers had deprived one Akram of his motorcycle and cash. Responding to the call, Sadar police set up a picket near Dolaywala village on Dipalpur Road. The police said that they intercepted the four robbers near the picket, who opened fire on them and attempted to flee. The police said a team of personnel chased the criminals, who took positions in a field and continued firing on them.
They said that after a brief exchange of fire with the robbers, they arrested two of them in injured condition, while as many others managed to flee. The robbers, as claimed by police, were injured in the firing by their own accomplices. The police shifted the injured criminals to the district headquarters hospital and started investigations. The police claim that the arrested criminals and their fleeing accomplices are notorious for kidnapping transpersons and abusing them. The gang members, as claimed by police, were proclaimed offenders and also wanted by Kasur police in over a dozen cases of kidnapping and house robberies.
