Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that according to merit, departmental promotion is the basic right of every officer and official, which is being provided to them without delay. IG Punjab said that the departmental promotion is actually a reflection of the increase in professional responsibilities, so promoted officers and officials should work with more hard work for eradication of crimes and better service delivery to citizens.Dr. Usman Anwar said that modern policing, best service delivery should be the aim of officers at new positions and use their powers effectively to protect the life and property of the citizens and crime control. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the benefit of departmental promotion should be transferred to the citizens in the form of better performance than before. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that intelligence-based operations should be expedited to root out organized crime and menace of drugs from the provincial capital. IG Punjab further said that all possible help, support, social security should be provided to minorities, women, children and other vulnerable sections. He expressed these views today while addressing the ceremony held for the promotion of 50 Head Constables to the rank of ASIs of Lahore Police at the Central Police Office.
A rank pinning ceremony was held to honour the officers promoted from Head Constable to ASI at the CPO, in which IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir Rizvi pinned new ranks to 50 officers of Lahore Police who were promoted as ASI.
The children, families and relatives of the promoted ASIs specially participated in the ceremony. IG Punjab congratulated the promoted ASIs and their relatives and expressed compassion to the children. IG Punjab directed the officials promoted to the post of ASI to perform their duties more diligently. IG Punjab further said that the process of departmental development is going on in all districts and ranks according to merit and seniority.DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir Rizvi, SSP Operations Ali Raza, SSP Admin Lahore Atif Nazir, AIG Discipline Ahsan Saifullah and other officers were also present on this occasion.
