LAHORE: Punjab IG Dr Usman Anwar has said police employees who are not able to get treatment for their kids are being provided assistance on priority and more measures will be taken in connection with health welfare. The IG met the special young children of the police officials who recovered from hearing problems after cochlear implant surgeries and their parents at the Central Police Office and inquired about post-surgery treatments. The parents of the children thanked the IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and said that after the cochlear implant surgeries, their kids are able to hear normally and now will live their lives like other normal children. The IG said that the police welfare fund has been specially spent on the welfare of constables and their families and so far funds have been released for the cochlear implant surgeries of 13 children of police officers, three children have undergone surgeries, while the rest will be done in the next few days. The IG released another Rs7.5 million for the cochlear implant surgery of children of five more police constables.
