150 students from various universities and colleges completed a two-week internship with the Punjab Police.

Students were informed about police working of various wings including Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, Special Initiative Police Stations, Anti Riot Force.

Practical working was shown in study visits to students at Service Center Liberty, Punjab Safe City Authority, Dolphin, Traffic and Telecommunication Headquarters.

The students were made aware of the daily duties of the police, routines of police stations and police offices, public service delivery and major challenges.

All police stations in the province will be upgraded as special initiative police stations by December 31. IG Punjab

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that students who have completed internship in Punjab Police will play the role of ambassadors of Punjab Police in the society, will inform citizens about policing services, and will also help the citizens who are suffering from problems in accessing the police. Dr. Usman Anwar said that these young people who are fully aware of police working will strengthen the relationship between police and citizens.IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is increasing direct interaction with the youth especially academics and students, Police Internship and Volunteers in Police programs will be continued in other districts of the province besides the Lahore. IG Punjab further said that the service delivery in community policing has improved with the joint efforts of police and public. Dr. Usman Anwar while talking about the upgradation of the working system of the police said that by December 31, all the police stations of the province will be upgraded as special initiative police station, similarly, more steps are being taken to keep khidmat centers, traffic licensing offices, Punjab Highway Patrol license issuing system and police service vans available to the citizens at all times. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Safe City projects in Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala will be completed soon, which will significantly improve crime control and traffic management and other monitoring system. He expressed these views while speaking at the ceremony of certificates distribution to the students, who completed their internship with Lahore police held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh today.

During the internship, these students were informed about the police working of various wings including Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, Special Initiative Police Stations, Anti Riot Force. On the pattern of common training programs of police service, students have been made aware of daily police duties, routines of police stations and police offices, public service delivery and challenges. These volunteers of police have been given the opportunity to see the life of the police force closely. DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir Rizvi gave a briefing about the ongoing two-week courses of Friends of Police across the province including Lahore, Ali Nasir Rizvi, while informing about the internship program of Volunteers in Police and its aims and objectives, said that these students doing internship are fully aware of the professional affairs of Punjab Police, available resources and challenges. Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan said that we are the units of a nation and society, students should play their roles effectively in the Brington public and police more closer. CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that the role of volunteers of police is double, it is the responsibility of students doing internships to spread awareness of the good initiatives of the police and identify crimes, inform police about their eradications. SP Javed Hasan, Zohaib Ranjha, ASP Syeda Shehrbano other young officers of Punjab Police including ASP Sidra Khan presented suggestions for improving public police relationship, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan, DIG Operations Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi along with Senior officers attended the function.
