Ikhlaq Ahmed wanted in murder case arrested and has been extradited from United Arab Emirates

The total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad this year has reached 128, said Punjab Police spokesperson

On the direction of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police has intensified the crackdown against proclaimed offenders who fled abroad after committing serious crimes in the province. In continuation of which, Ikhlaq Ahmed, wanted in the case of murder, has been arrested from the United Arab Emirates. With the arrest of another proclaimed offender the total number of proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad this year has increased to 128. The spokesman of the Punjab Police said that the accused had fled to the United Arab Emirates after the incident eight months ago. Punjab Police issued red notice from Interpol, continued follow-up for arrest. The accused was arrested three weeks ago from the United Arab Emirates, after completing the legal procedures, he was brought to Pakistan today. The accused was handed over to the Gujranwala police for further action.

IG Punjab congratulated the team of Special Operation Cell Gujranwala for the arrest of A category dangerous proclaimed offender.IG Punjab directed that the crackdown against dangerous culprits involved in murder, robbery and kidnapping should be intensified, information sharing is being done regularly with FIA, Interpol and other agencies. IG Punjab said that RPOs, DPOs should self-monitor the crackdown against dangerous proclaimed offenders who are absconding abroad and  send arrest reports of criminals to the Central Police Office regularly.
