Punjab Police ensured foolproof security arrangements of churches and other Christian places of worship across the province
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed tge RPOs, DPOs to increase the security arrangements of churches.
Christian citizens performed their worship and participated in prayer ceremonies in a peaceful environment across the province.
On the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police ensured foolproof security arrangements for all christian prayer programs in the churches across the province on Sunday, the Punjab Police remained on high alert and performed their duties, the Christian citizens performed their prayers in a peaceful environment and participated in their holy prayer ceremonies.
Earlier, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered the RPOs, DPOs to increase the security arrangements of the churches and said that the SPs, supervisory officers in all the districts should check the security arrangements of the churches and important places. Additional police personnel and snipers should be deployed at sensitive churches, Dolphin Squad, PRU, elite teams should conduct effective patrolling around the churches, IG Punjab directed that the posted police officers and officials should remained on high alert, Keep a close watch on evil elements, search and sweep operations should be continued around the churches, Christian communities and sensitive places. IG Punjab further said that scholars, Christian community, members of peace committees should promote inter-faith harmony. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Punjab Police has established meesaq centers to solve the problems of minorities including the Christian community, on a priority basis.
