Punjab Police had a fierce encounter with the terrorists at Dedowaal, a hilly area of Makarwal police station in Mianwali. Spokesperson of the Punjab Police said that Mianwali Police received information about the presence of 10 to 12 terrorists in the hilly area of Makarwal. Under the leadership of DSP circle Isa Khel, police teams consisting of SHO Police Station Isa Khel, Makarwal, Qamer Mishani started a search operation in the hilly area. At 04:00 p.m. near Naz Pakistan Mines in Makarwal, Lamshiwal, the terrorists started firing indiscriminately on the police parties. Punjab Police spokesperson said that DPO Mianwali Matiullah Khan reached Makarwal along with a heavy contingent of police as soon as he got the information about the encounter. The terrorists were forced to retreat due to heavy firing by the police, they took advantage of the darkness to flee towards the mountain plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Police officers and jawans remained safe in the crossfire due to proactive strategy, there was no loss of life. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is on high alert and will continue to fight against the anti-peace elements with the national spirit and the scourge of terrorism will be eradicated.
