SAHIWAL: Pakpattan police have registered a case against a youth who had allegedly attempted to burn his eighty-year-old father alive over a property dispute in Mohalla Pir Kariyain. The police took action after a video clip of the incident was shared on social media. The suspect, Hafiz Shahzad, manged to escape before police raided his house to arrest him. City police registered a case against him under the PPC and the Protection of Parents Ordinance-2021, on the complaint of Pir Bakhsh, father of Hafiz Shahzad. Pakpattan DPO Tariq Valayat visited the victim’s house, and assured him of cooperation and protection by police. As per police sources, two weeks back Shahzad allegedly attempted to burn his father alive by throwing petrol on him.
