On the direction of IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown against electricity thieves is continuing across the province.
24758 cases have been registered against electricity thieves across the province, including Lahore, and 15031 accused have been arrested.
Actions should be taken against power theft at private and commercial level with the cooperation of the relevant departments, said IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
Under the direction of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown against electricity thieves is going on across the province including Lahore and the police teams are carrying out coordination for operations against the electricity thieves with the relevant departments . IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that this year 24758 cases have been registered against electricity thieves across the province including Lahore and 15031 accused have been arrested, 10451 cases against electricity thieves have been challaned, 10062 are under investigation. Yesterday, 1193 cases were registered across the province, 46 accused were arrested, while 238 cases were registered against electricity thieves in the provincial capital Lahore.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered to intensify the ongoing crackdown against electricity thieves across the province and said that actions should be taken against power theft at private and commercial level with the cooperation of the relevant departments.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the supervisory officers should monitor the crackdown against the electricity thieves themselves and the reports of the crackdown against the electricity thieves should be sent to the CPO regularly. Dr. Usman Anwar said that there should be no delay in strict legal action against the elements that harm the country's resources.
