SARGODHA: A joint team of Bhera police and CIA on Monday arrested two women drug peddlers and recovered seven kilo heroin from their possession. Reports said the women were transporting the contraband via motorway and entered Bhera where police arrested them. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran praised the police team and said indiscriminate action was taken against the elements involved in drug trafficking throughout the district. The crackdown will continue until the end of the scourge of drug peddling.
ARRESTED: Sajid Shaheed police arrested two suspects, one of whom was identified as Nadeem Abbas, who is wanted in 17 cases of theft in Sargodha. Reports said police were shifting the suspects to the police station when they jumped out of the van and escaped. The police chased the suspects and confronted them near Mari, where they were joined by their accomplices. The accomplices opened fire on the police, but one of them was overpowered. One of them -- Nadeem Abbas -- was injured in firing by their accomplices. SP City Usman Aziz Mir and Sajid Shaheed Station House Officer Ansar Abbas arrived at the scene with a police contingent. The injured suspect was taken to Sargodha hospital. Cases have been registered against the suspects in different police stations. Raids are being conducted to arrest the fleeing accomplices.
