23565 cases were registered against electricity thieves across the province including Lahore, 14985 accused were arrested.

In collaboration with the relevant departments, actions should be taken against those involved in electricity theft at houses and commercial points without discrimination, IG Punjab

On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown against electricity thieves has been accelerated across the province including Lahore, and legal action is being taken against those accused for theft or damaging the country's resources.

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that 23565 cases have been registered and 14985 accused have been arrested in the crackdown against electricity thieves across the province including Lahore. 10430 cases have been challaned against electricity thieves while 8890 cases are under investigation, IG Punjab said last day 1225 cases were registered across the province, 32 accused were arrested. In the provincial capital Lahore, 236 cases were registered against electricity thieves and priority actions are ongoing in this regard.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar ordered to intensify the ongoing crackdown against electricity thieves across the province and said that actions should be taken against private and commercial electricity thieves with the cooperation of the relevant departments.  IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that elements who harm the country's resources do not deserve any concession, RPOs, DPOs should regularly send reports of crackdown against electricity thieves to central police office.
