LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has foiled a major terror plot by arresting two suspected militants linked with banned outfits during operations in different areas of the province. According to the spokesman, the Punjab CTD conducted 50 intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province to effectively deal with any untoward incident of terrorism, in which 50 suspected persons were interrogated. Two alleged militants were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials. Among the arrested militants are Zakirulla and Muhammad Eisha, he said and added that they belonged to banned organisation Daesh. He said the arrest of these militants was carried out during intelligence-based operations in Gujranwala and Rawalpindi. He said 1.58 kilo explosives, eight detonators, 13 feet of safety fuse wire, two mobile phones and Rs6,480 in cash had been recovered from the possession of these militants.
