Vice-Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University, Major General (retd) Shahzad Sikandar met with IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, at the Central Police Office.
An agreement was signed between Punjab Police and Lahore Garrison University for academic and research purposes in the Department of Criminology.

Children of police personnel, especially martyrs, will get higher education in various fields from Garrison University.
A delegation led by Vice-Chancellor of Lahore Garrison University, Major General (retd) Shahzad Sikander, met Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr Usman Anwar at the Central Police Office. During the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Punjab Police and Lahore Garrison University for academic and research purposes in the Department of Criminology. The MoU was signed by IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, and Vice Chancellor, Major General (Retd) Shahzad Sikander. Under the MoU, both institutions will promote human resource training and development and mutual cooperation for academic and research purposes.
IG Punjab said that information sharing will be expanded in digital forensics, cyber security, forensic sciences, and other professional and research purposes. While the children of police personnel, especially martyrs, will get higher education in various fields from the Garrison University.
IG Punjab further said that training workshops, refresher, and diploma courses will be conducted to increase the capacity of police personnel. MoUs with educational institutions have also promoted research culture in Punjab Police and improved interaction with the faculty. A series of study tours will also begin between the Punjab Police and the Garrison University. IG Punjab further said that BS, MS, and MPhil students of Criminology Department of Garrison University would be given an opportunity for internship in police offices. The delegation of Lahore Garrison University included Vice-Chancellor Major General (Retd) Shahzad Sikander, Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Khurram Aftab and Head of Criminology Department Mr. Kukab. Vice-Chancellor Major General (Retd) Shahzad Sikander said that the students of the Garrison University would play their role in the awareness campaign of the public service delivery projects of the Punjab Police. Police personnel and their children will be given admission in the diploma and degree programs of Garrison University on a priority basis.
During the meeting, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar gave a commemorative shield to Vice-Chancellor Major General (retd) Shahzad Sikander. On this occasion, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chauhan, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG IT Ahsan Younas, AIG Admin Amara Athar, AIG Trainin Faisal Mukhtar, AIG R&D Sajid Hussain Khokhar and other Senior officers were present on occasion.
