TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police have recovered Rs6.5m from three suspects who had kidnapped a medical doctor of Pirmahal, Khanewal for ransom. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Toba DPO Karar Hussain said three kidnappers, Shahid of Mian Channu, Suleman of Sidhillianwali and Asad of Shorkot, had kidnapped Dr Asim Ijaz from Pirmahal on May 2. They released him after receiving ransom from his father. Meanwhile, the DPO handed over stolen vehicles, animals and robbed valuables worth millions to their owners at Police Lines. Besides Rs8.8m cash, 98 motorcycles, a tractor, two rickshaws, five buffaloes, 40 goats, 22 mobile phones, 27 solar panels and gold ornaments were returned to their owners.
