BHAKKAR: Police have arrested two men after registering a case over harassment of female college students in Bhakkar city. The case has been registered against four un-identified suspects. Police officials said one of the prime suspects, Faizan, had been identified. They told reporters that raids were being conducted to apprehend the other men suspected of having harassed second year students. The case has been filed on a complaint lodged by a student’s father. The complainant stated that four men on motorcycles had intercepted a rickshaw transporting students returning from their tuition classes on Tuesday evening near the Bahl Road Railway Crossing and harassed them. After an outcry from the students, local residents managed to apprehend one of the harassers. A video showing the students’ retaliation against the perpetrator subsequently went viral on the social media. However, the detained man’s accomplices later succeeded in rescuing him from the citizens. Following the incident, DPO Naveed Qureshi gave the relevant circle police personnel a 12-hour dead-line to apprehend all those implicated in the case.
