On the instruction of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a dangerous proclaimed offender involved in six murders arrested from Saudi Arabia
Proclaimed offender (PO) Zahid Iqbal had killed four people in one incident and two people in another incident, spokesperson Punjab Police.
Punjab Police Special Operation Cell team traced and arrested the PO Zahid Iqbal in Saudi Arabia.
With the help of Interpol, Zahid Iqbal was brought to Pakistan, handed over to Nowshera police for further legal action.
With the arrest of PO Zahid Iqbal, the total number of POs from abroad has risen to 103, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar, the crackdown continued for the arrest of proclaimed offenders who had fled abroad. A PO Zahid Iqbal who had killed four people in one incident, two people in another incident and had fled abroad has been arrested by a Punjab Police Special Operation Cell team after tracing from Saudi Arabia.
He was brought to Pakistan with the help of Interpol and has been handed over to Nowshera police by Gujranwala Police for further legal action.
Spokesman Punjab Police said that with the arrest of the PO Zahid Iqbal, the total number of POs arrested from abroad has increased to 103.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the police team for following up the arrest of the dangerous PO and said that the crackdown should be intensified to arrest the absconding advertisers abroad in serious crimes like murder, robbery, kidnapping for ransom. IG Punjab further said that operations should remain continued with the cooperation of FIA, Interpol and other agencies.
RPOs, CPOs and DPOs should regularly send reports of arrests of the dangerous POs to the Central Police Office.
