NAROWAL: Police claimed on Monday to have arrested from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa three suspects who broke open the Chak Amru police lock-up on Thursday last. Three suspects Umar Khan, Muhammad Abu Bakr and Mujahid Khan allegedly involved in several cases, were detained at Chak Amru police (Shakargarh) lock-up. On Thursday night, they broke open the lock-up and fled. After the incident, police booked duty officials Junaid Tariq and Ambar Majeed. DPO Rana Tahir Rehman Khan told a press conference that Inspector General Usman Anwar took strict notice of the incident and ordered their immediate arrest.
The DPO said investigation and raiding teams, led by Shakargarh DSP Rai Ehsan Elahi, were formed. The teams used modern technology, arrested the suspects from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recovered arms from their possession. He said many FIRs had been registered against the suspects with different police stations. Mr Khan said an inquiry had been started against the policemen who allegedly helped the suspects flee the lock-up. DPO Narowal has announced cash and certificate of appreciation for the investigation and raiding teams for timely arrest of the suspects.
