BAHAWALPUR: The Samsatta police arrested five suspects at Karachi airport on Wednesday, thwarting their attempt to escape to Dubai along with stolen Rs2.1 million and four tola of gold jewellery. Among the arrested people included a son of the complainant. A few days ago, thieves broke into the house of Rehmat Khan and made off with Rs2.1 million and four tola of jewellery. This led to the registration of a first information report and a special investigative team was made for the case.
The police identified the suspects and learned of their intentions to flee the country. On Wednesday, the police arrested the group at the airport just before their flight was scheduled to depart for Dubai. The suspects are Owais, Hafeaz, Zohaib, Aamir, and Adnan, complainant’s own son. They all are college students. The stolen belongings were returned to Rehmat at a ceremony, while the suspects have been remanded in police custody.
